Exciting times ahead for the Café & kitchen with the launch of Silver Dreams!
The Hive Beach Cafe recently purchased Silver Dreams, a 1960’s retro mobile catering trailer with the view to cater outside events, so whether it’s for providing catering for films, birthday parties, weddings, events, festivals or any special occasion, then look out for our sleek Silver trailer!
Silver Dreams will have its first outing at the Eat Dorset Food Festival at Parnham House- 13 & 14 October, where we will be cooking Lobster and Steak Ciabatta ‘s, Griddled Scallops & King Prawns, all washed down with champagne cocktails which we’ll be serving from the van. So come and join us and tell us what you think of our out latest addition.
With Autumn now upon us, the weather and sea changes which means that the summer fish that have been so abundant this year change, and the colder water fish start to come in to their prime.
We recently changed our ever popular Tempura Fish & Chips from Cod to Hake fillet which has had a really good response. Hake is a really nice fish, has a great texture and a nicer flavour to Cod we feel, so well worth a try.
Fish now in or coming into season are;
- Black Bream
- Sea Bass
- Grey Mullet
- Red Mullet
Other fish we’ve had that have been good include some splendid Plaice from fishing boat Valeron off West Bay. They’re so good, that we simply grill them with Cornish sea salt and olive oil…delicious. Good Landings of Dover Sole and some nice John Dory.
And with Christmas fast approaching, don’t miss out on our Christmas menu! Booking is essential. Our menu was launched in August and we took our first booking before the August Bank holiday which was very exciting….
