The Hive Beach Café provides a cosmopolitan style menu from a crab sandwich to a Seafood Platter fit for a King or Queen, line caught sea bass, brown trout and one of my favourites must be our locally caught crab sandwich with a side portion of chips, washed down with a bottle of our wine carefully selected by Tolchards to accompany our menu and compliment our seafood and fish dishes.

The mouth watering sea food platter has to be one of the most extravagant dishes on our menu. In it you will find spider crabs, lobster, Portland oysters, crevettes, langoustines, clams, mussels and more. What could be better for an alfresco lunch of dinner overlooking Lyme Bay. If that’s tickled your taste buds then please remember that at least 24 hours notice required if you wanted to book one! Our Chefs will be happy to advise what’s in season, so do call…but please not during food service as they can’t get to the phones! Before 10 am or after 3 pm is best.
In the kitchen we have a young, creative team headed up by Barry, Giles, Hannah and Artur, creating all sorts of interesting and delicious dishes. Our aim is to keep it simple and healthy using the best local seasonal ingredients and fresh locally caught fish and seafood. Our specials change daily usually depending on the supply and variety of fish available. The Kitchen team are extremely enthusiastic and you can watch as they work from the other side of the fish counter or through the new hatch, recently installed and overlooking the main cafe.
We have a wide selection of foods for those who are not so keen on seafood, from a simple ham sandwich with chips on the side to vegetarian options with mouthwatering delicacies such as goats cheese and red onion.
